Beginners
module 1 class
A new class will start on Monday, 20 February, 7.15-8.45pm
10 weeks (3 students),
11 weeks (4 students), 12 weeks (5 students).
- The numbers and the alphabet
- to introcue yourself and give information on age, hobbies etc.
- to ask simple questions
- how to describe basic objects
- the conjugation of regular and strong verbs in the present tense
- conjugation of "haben" and "sein"
- the genders, definite and indefinite article, possessive article
- singular and plural, first introduction to nominative and accusative
case
- to talk about food and groceries

module 2 class
A new class will start on Tuesday 31 January, 7.15-8.45pm.
10 weeks (3 students),
11 weeks (4 students), 12 weeks (5 students)
- You will learn
- how to read a German menu, order and pay a meal in a restaurant
- to ask for and say the time in German
- modal verbs
- separable verbs
- how to make an appointment
- prepositions with accusative and dative case
- the name of rooms and furniture
- how people live in Germany
- to describe your own home and your dream home

module 3 class
Starting Wednesday,

10 weeks/15 hours
of tuition (3 students), 11 weeks (4 students), 12 weeks (5 students)
You will learn
- lots of new vocabulary and vocabulary fields of
your choice
- parts of your body and health
- more about possessive articles
- more about modal verbs
- more about accusative, dative and prepositions
- the imperative
- the German "spoken" past tense (the "Perfekt")
· The "Perfekt" will be the main focus of this module.
You will learn the forms of 100 important verbs and then apply them while
talking about the past, e.g. your last weekend, holiday, birthday. Students
usually experience the "Perfekt" as very empowering, as you
can talk about so much more knowing how to expres the past.

module 4 class
Starting Wednesday,
7 December, 6-7.30pm

module 4 class will start on Wednesday, 1 February, 7.45-9.15pm
10 weeks/15 hours
of tuition (3 students), 11 weeks (4 students), 12 weeks (5 students)
· a lot about Berlin
· more about dative and accusative (indirect and direct object)
· personal pronouns
· comparative and superlative
· people and alternative lifestyles in Germany
· tasters of Geography and history
· famous people in Austria, Switzerland and Germany
· solid revision of the 4 modules
· first introduction to the genetive case
Intermediate module
1 class
A new class will start on Wednesday, 29 February 2011,
6-7.30pm
· adjective
endings in all cases
· how to describe people and objects in more detail
· to keep a lively controversial discussion going
· The Imperfekt tense (also called Präteritum or simple past)
of Modalverbs
· subclauses with weil, obwohl and wenn.
· about the education system in Germany and discuss education systems
in England and other countries
· to discuss the world of work, how to write a CV and covering
letter.
· reflexive verbs (accusative and dative) and Präpositionalpronomen
· about cultural life and art
